Blog Tour - No Turning Back by Casey Peeler

No Turning Back (Full Circle #1) – YA/NA

After getting involved with Dylan, the bad boy of the Dixon High Swim team, Charley decides to stay close to home for college. It’s just safer that way. Later, she realizes it’s a mistake, just like dating Dylan. She decides to put the past behind her and leave the small hick town of Grassy Pond. There is only one problem; she makes this decision three weeks before the fall semester begins.
Charley packs up her Honda and heads to Southern College. On the morning she’s about to leave, Cash walks back into her life. He has been her best friend since they were four and is the only one who knows the REAL Charley. She leaves her farm in Grassy Pond with all kinds of “what if” questions.
Charley decides to live her college career to the fullest. She finds a great group of friends, joins the swim team, and meets a guy named Joe. He’s got eyes that make ya wanna melt!
At college, she encounters a new problem. Charley has been away from home for only forty-eight hours before she breaks the two promises she made to herself. Will she be able to overcome her past? Find new love? What will happen with Cash now that he is back in her life? Will she find what she is wanting in Jackalope Joe? How will her first semester of college end? Joe, Cash, or alone?

As we make our way to the door, Georgia slips on the gravel.  She starts laughing and the rest of us do as well once we help her up.

“Y’all, I think the ground and curbs are out to get me.  I mean they come out of nowhere.  The next thing I know, I’m on my ass again!”  Georgia is a hoot.  She always makes light of situations.

Hank’s Tavern is not exactly what I pictured.  It’s an old, worn down, wooden shed.  There are five parking spaces in front of the restaurant section of the place.  The rest of the parking is located across the road in a gravel lot.  It’s gravel, no pavement anywhere.  The bouncers are dressed in jeans and Hank’s Tavern t-shirts that fit just a little snug around their arms showing off their muscles.  They ask for our IDs, take a brief glance, and in we go.  I will have to say, the guys don’t get in quite as easy.  They get patted down and driver’s license checked.  Sometimes it pays to be a female.

We enter through another set of glass doors and immediately cigarette smoke and stale beer hit my nostrils.  The room is open except for a few pool tables and the bar.  It is dark, lights are flashing, and the music is bumping.  We do exactly what any group of girls would do, walk straight to the restroom.  You have got to kidding me!  No door really!  There is no freakin’ door on the last stall.  After taking a few minutes to get over the negative stall door and freshen up, we walk out and head straight to the dance floor.

I have to say that this is exactly redneck meets ghetto fabulous.  Whoever thought a place like this would play Mystikal, Dr. Dre, Lil Wayne, throw in a little “Downtown” by Lady A and Old Crow Medicine Show?  We have the best time just dancing in a big group.  I notice Crystal and Lucas on the floor; she smiles and waves before continuing to do things she should be embarrassed to be doing in public.  I am so thankful that I don’t have to deal with that in my room.  That is one benefit to her dating a Resident Assistant… he has his own room.

By midnight, Hank’s is packed.  I decide to grab a bottle of water, and as I’m about to pay, I hear that oh so sexy voice.

“I got that.”

“It’s okay, Joe.  I got it.”

“No, I insist.  I was an ass earlier.  I didn’t mean to make you feel bad.  It’s the least I can do.”

“Damn straight!  I’m proud of who I am and where I’m from.  I just hate when damn Yankees come down here and then try to make us look like hicks.  You don’t like the way we live, then don’t cross the Mason-Dixon,” I say as playful as possible.  It did tick me off earlier, but I don’t want him to think I’m a bitch.

“I swear I won’t do it again, and nobody is gonna pick on you eating squirrel but me,” he says with a smile.

“Okay, I’ll give ya that.”

“So Squirrel, you wanna dance?”

“Mr. Scaredy Cat, I’d love to.”  He takes the water bottle from me and leads me to the dance floor.

Blog Tour 4.5 Star Review - Lie To Me by Chloe Cox

The man who saved her is also the man who destroyed her… or is he?

Seven years ago, I decided I wanted to be a fighter. Marcus Roma showed me how.

Six years ago, my parents died in a car accident. Marcus Roma picked me up off the ground and held me until I could stand on my own two feet.

Five years ago, I fell in love with him.

And then Marcus Roma disappeared. No warning. No explanation. Just gone.

Yesterday, he came back.

And now I have to decide who’s telling the truth, and who’s lying. Who wants something from me, and who wants…

Me.

If I guess wrong, I could lose everything. I need to think clearly. But Marcus makes that impossible. Marcus makes me weak. Marcus makes me want, in a way I’ve never felt before.

Marcus Roma will make me fall. The only question is—will he be there to catch me this time?

LIE TO ME is a new adult / adult contemporary romance novel about truth, lies, and redemption. It is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

I have an overactive imagination and too much time on my hands, and the result is...well, lots of books! Which is probably better than the alternative. ;)

I love writing steamy and erotic romances, some dark, some light, but always about something that moves me. And, because I'm totally a sucker, love tends to win out. Everyone deserves a happy ending. :)

My contemporary BDSM erotic romance series, Club Volare, has hit the genre bestseller charts on Amazon a few times, which is just awesome. Right now there are two books, Sold to the Sheikh and Tied to the Tycoon, with a third, Disciplined by the Dom, due in February 2013. And I've also got this paranormal series in the very beginning stages of development that I'm super excited about. When I'm not writing those, I'm gonna be reading -- if you've got any good recs, send them my way!

And if you want to hear about those new releases when they come out, you can sign up for my New Releases list here (I *only* use it for that; I hate spam so much!).

Lots of love, and happy reading!!

I received and ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Lie To Me is a beautiful raw and gritty romance about finding ones whole heart and losing it, but then unwanted and unexpectedly have it dropped right back into your life. Drama, love, loss, secrets and what I would consider a very shady business man (mob boss) is what makes this story not only unique but a truly wonderful read.

I loved that Chloe gave the reader so much of Marcus’s and Harlow’s back story. For me this made the story easy to connect with and left me with no unanswered questions.
Marcus’s and Harlow’s story will leave you breathless at the show of passion they have for each other, and not just the lustful love kind of passion but heat, anger and mistrust. Whew!!

This being my first read by Chloe Cox will NOT be my last. I am so happy that not only did I get to participate in the blog tour but I have found another outstanding author.

Blog Tour 4 Star Review - Working It by Kendall Ryan

A story of heart-stopping, toe-curling passion by the beloved bestselling author of Hard to Love, Resisting Her, and The Impact of You.

Straight-laced and well-mannered southerner Emmy Clarke is out of her depth in New York City’s fashion world, but when she lands a job as an assistant at a modeling agency it seems like the perfect mix of business and pleasure. Working under the notoriously tyrannical Fiona Stone is a nightmare, but there’s one distinct perk: ogling the ridiculously hot male models who parade through the office—particularly rising star Ben Shaw.

Ben is everything Emmy’s not: exquisitely gorgeous, highly paid, and well-traveled. He’s also got more issues than Vogue. Emmy looks after Ben on photo shoots, but she refuses to become another one of his lusting groupies. Ben finds Emmy’s refreshingly real attitude to be surprisingly attractive.

Against a backdrop of the most fashionable cities in the world, casual flirting turns into an illicit affair, but when Ben’s twisted past is revealed, and the bitter Fiona catches wind of their relationship, their careers and hearts are threatened.

Kendall Ryan is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the contemporary romance novels HARD TO LOVE, UNRAVEL ME, MAKE ME YOURS, RESISTING HER and THE IMPACT OF YOU.  She's a sassy, yet polite Midwestern gal with a deep love of books, and a slight addiction to lipgloss. I received a complementary copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Down home country girl - Emmy Clarke
Raging bitch boss - Fiona Stone
Gorgeous lickable fashion male model -  Ben Shaw

I wasn't to sure if I was going to like the backdrop to this story.  I have never been into the fashion world and on occasion have a very strong desire to want to slap those skinny people.  However, after the first  few chapters and one very hunky Ben Shaw I was lost to the fashion and model word.  Ben a male fashion model is completely and total controlled by his agent Fiona which is also Emmy's boss.  Ben has become so consumed with his work and listening to Fiona that he has forgotten some very simple pleasures in life which Emmy is all to willing to help him explore. Really this poor man just needed real food and Emmy being a good ole country girl was happy to help.  There is just nothing like a good beer and blueberry muffin.

Ben and Emmy start up a secret relationship that is full of doubt.  Neither wants a commented relationship with the other, but both want the other in their bed.  The sexual pull between these two is explosive!!!  I must say that author Kendall Ryan has always been exceptional good with those steamy, hot, makes your toes curl love scenes.  *FANNING SELF*

Ben and Emmy will  melt your kindle with the passion they have for each other and leave you wanting to strangle them for their poor life decisions.  Lets also not forget the bitch from hell, boss Fiona.  Oh, now that is a woman I want to slap.  I started to feel a little bad for her until she started her poor me speech.  (fuck me Ben, Emmy will never know) let the hair ripping begin.  That woman didn't just cause problems for Ben and Emmy's relationship she destroyed any amount of trust and hope Emmy had of having a real relationship with Ben .

Kendall I absolutely love where this sweet, sexy story is going and can't wait for the continuation of Ben's an Emmy's story.
If you love a hot read with a great secret mixed into the story line.  Working It is a must read especially if you want all the dirty details.

Once we reach the bottom of the stairs, I gain my confidence and take his hand leading him to the dance floor.
“Let’s dance!”  I don’t give him time to respond, nor do I stop to look at his face to see his expression.
Instantly, Maggie spots me and her eyes light up like a deer in headlights.  I smile and threw my head back as I grab onto Reed.  I start swaying my hips and moving provocatively to Promiscuous by Nelly Furtado.  The look on his face is priceless.
“You don’t fool me, little girl,” he whispers in my ear as he moves my hair to the side.  Goosebumps travel all the way down my neck and down my spine.  Then he moves his hands to my waist and turns me with my back to his front.  This reminds me of last night in my dorm room.  Maggie moves closer and mouths to me “bad girl”.   I throw my head back into the crook of his neck and giggle.
Kelly and Derek are still dancing nearby.  I can’t read the look Derek is giving me, but then I see him gaze at Kelly with amusement.  I think he may be surprised to see me with Reed again.  In this moment I feel at ease and carefree.  I turn back around and quickly become aware that Reed is in a sandwich.  Luckily it is just Quinn dancing behind him and when I look at her she winks at me.  Soon after she is pulled by her hips to Matt’s grinding moves.
The music turns to a slower Cold Play song and Reed pulls me closer to him.  He starts to sway us softly.  I dare myself to look up and when I do his eyes look heated and deeper, almost sapphire.  Nervously, I bite down on my bottom corner of my lip.  Reed runs his hands up to my cheeks and kisses me teasingly slow while lightly sucking on my bottom lip.  It feels so good to be like this with him and I am wishing we were back upstairs in the bathroom or back in his room.  Moving his head into the crook of my neck he plants sweet kisses just under my ear.  As I feel myself getting lost in this moment, I am suddenly broken from it when someone grabs at my shoulder pulling me out of Reed’s arms and turns me around.
With alcohol swimming in me I lose my balance, but I immediately notice the mixed green and hazel eyes that I had once found so loving.  Reed shifts behind me and moves his hands protectively around my waist.  The anxiety I had been feeling earlier quickly consumes me.  I stare in disbelief and fear.

Melissa Rolka grew up in the Chicagoland area all of her childhood and has always had a love of writing. She started by keeping a journal at a young age and then in high school she started writing poetry. A couple poems were published anonymously. Then in college she majored in Philosophy, which required lots and lots of writing. After graduating from Marquette University she traveled west to Los Angeles. There she worked for the Writers Guild of America and found herself submerged in the writers world. She worked on small writings, but never pursued them. On the side she became involved with a small theater group. Eventually she made her way back to the Midwest, where her heart belongs, and worked in business for several years. She found love, got married and has two beautiful children. Being at home has allowed her to keep following her love of reading and writing. The Perfect Distraction is her first full length novel. A second continuation of this story is in the works with hopes for a third. When Melissa is not writing she is caring for, playing with and loving her two kids. In between taking care of her family and writing she almost always has her nose buried in her Kindle.

Diagnosis: Sleep-running
Treatment: Truth
Prognosis: Beautifully Awake

Lili Porter hates the rain. Bad things happen in the rain. As a small town social worker dedicated to protecting children, she is forced to start over to escape her rural disaster. Determined to follow her father’s advice—head up and chin high—Lili finds herself in a new city, taking on a new system, this time healthcare. In doing so, she gets something she never expected, an intimate behind-the-scenes look at life in the hospital.

Lili learns that a surgeon’s hands have the power to heal more than physical wounds. And a prescription for truth can cure three years of sleep running and leave you beautifully awake.

“Baby, I want to sleep with you.” His voice softened. “This isn’t about sex. This is about sleeping ... with you ... in our bed, just sleeping, no talking. Just silence, me listening to your soft breaths. That’s truth.” And once again this man had completely disarmed me with words alone. “See you soon, baby.”

Silence filled my ear. I turned and dropped my phone on the bed.
"You're not going to tell him, huh?" Sierra raised her eyebrows and frowned.
"I don't know, but I'm definitely not ready tonight."
"This thing with Dr. Hot-as-Balls is serious, isn't it?"
I couldn't help but nod. My gut told me she wasn't wrong.

Yep. That's an “s.” There are two of us!

We’re East coast girls separated by Long Island Sound who met in Physician Assistant School and have been besties ever since. We can safely say that thirteen miles of water does not get in the way because we talk or text, no exaggeration, at least 150 times a day. No, really, we do—about everything and nothing. Shockingly, we never (we mean never) run out of things to say. Umm, ever. We definitely laugh A LOT and we’re a tad sarcastic. And if we’re being totally honest, one or two people might have, on occasion, used our names and ‘dramatic’ in the same sentence. But it’s hard to trust the sources since they married us.
It only took twelve years, two husbands, five kids, two dogs, and a two-week vacation in Cape Cod later to decide the romance world needed a splash of medicine. Write what you know.

So you can easily find us at 4 o'clock on Bank Street beach with a glass of cold Prosecco brainstorming. And guaranteed if we bump into you, literally, it’s only because our iPhones are glued to our hands (totally out of our control) either writing or editing our next novel (and yes, it is possible to do from your iPhone, we mastered it … damn those straight quotations).

When we are not working on our book or reading the latest angsty romance on our kindles, you basically name it and we have it going on. Soccer, lacrosse, golf, swimming, dance, gymnastics, football, chess, baseball, basketball, skiing, ice skating, school, homework, and more school.

Oh yeah, did we forget to mention our careers in medicine?
Needless to say, we realized fast that something had to go, so we opted for sleep. It’s completely overrated (yet so AMAZING) and delirium makes everything funnier. Good thing we share a brain and can pretty much complete each other’s sentences (definitely weird, we know), otherwise it might have taken us two years to write Beautifully Awake rather than one.

So that’s our story, who we are … just add AUTHORS to the list!
