Review : Dissonance by Drew Elyse ~ JMAC

Synopsis

The first time Logan ever saw Charlotte, she was staring up into the rain.
Logan is searching for direction when his new roommate makes that entrance. With a body of pure sin, giant bright eyes, and the voice of an angel, she has his attention immediately. But everything about Charlotte is also screaming "hands off."
Charlotte is hiding. She made a life of pretending, and she is happy to keep it that way. Physically and emotionally scarred by the secrets of her past, the last thing she needs is a gorgeous roommate asking all the wrong questions. Their mutual attraction and devotion to music may be too strong to keep him at arms length, though.
Can they find a way to resolve the dissonance between them?

This book is intended for audiences 18+. It contains explicit language and sexual content.

My Review

Dissonance was a really great read.  The book mainly focused on the relationship between Logan and Charlotte.
Charlotte was broken.  She was a victim of the things that happened to her, yet she felt that what happened to her was her fault.  Charlotte was closed, and empty inside.  She never told anyone what happened to her, not even her best friend Alex, or her brother Eli.
When a horrible incident leaves Charlotte in the hospital, Eli, Charlotte's brother intervenes.  Eli's best friend Logan needs a roommate, and Eli thinks it's a good idea for Charlotte to be that person.  To get Eli off of her back Charlotte agrees to move in with Logan, not expecting her life to change.
Logan is your typical musician.  He sleeps with whoever he wants, he's not into relationships whatsoever.  He lives for his music.  Even though his band hasn't made it big yet, he still hasn't given up on them.  Besides being apart of the band, Logan works for his fathers company.  Anyways, when Logan first saw Charlotte, he was pulled to her.  After Logan discovered her love for music, and what music meant to Charlotte, he knew he wanted to be the one to save her.
Even though Logan and Charlotte's journey was anything but easy, Logan wouldn't give up.
Dissonance is the beautiful story of learning to live with your past, and not letting it define you as a person. Also, learning that it's OK to let people in because you don't have to always go through hard things on your own.  Dissonance was an amazing heartfelt story.  I laughed and cried my eyes out.  Drew has a way with words. From beginning to end I was completely hooked.  The thing I loved most about this book was the fact that it wasn't your typical boy band book.  Dissonance was about the love 2 people shared for music, but not just the love, both Logan and Charlotte were empty, and the only way they new how to feel was through music.  It was a different look into music, and I loved that.
Drew great job with Dissonance. I can't wait to read Alex and Eli's story.
Drew, you have a forever fan in me !
