Love is somewhere near the bottom of Lily Thomas’ list of life goals, right next to competitive eating and underwater cave diving. She’s spent six years pirouetting and pliĆ©ing her way up the ranks of the New York Ballet with her eye on the prize and love in the back seat. But now that Blane Baker -- Lily’s long time crush -- is finally single, she’ll throw her rules out the window without thinking twice.
Reality with Blane isn’t as epic as the fantasy she imagined, and the truth sends her spinning straight into the arms of the man she never knew she’d always wanted.
West Williams has been friends with Lily since the day she moved into their building and he saved her armoire from a swift, sudden death by staircase. Their friendship has always been easy, the boundaries clearly defined. With neither of them willing to risk their relationship, they’ve drifted happily through the years as companions, never considering more.
That is, until they do. And that realization changes everything.
I absolutely LOVED this book. Everything about it was just amazing. Between the friendships, banter, hilarious scenes, serious scenes, it just all fit together so well.
Lily is a professional dancer. She's had this crush on her partner Blane since forever. The day they finally hook up is the best day of her life. Even though it didn't live up to her fantasy, she was still finally getting what she's wanted for so long.
Lily has a circle of friends, who are all equally loved by me. They all together made this book amazing. I love reading books whose characters have a strong friendship bond that is detrimental to them. That was the case with Lily and her friends.
West, oh West. EVERYTHING about West is perfect in my eyes. For one he is SOUTHERN (YUM). Two, he has tattoos (YUM YUM), and three MANBUN.(YUM YUM YUMMMMM) Need I say more?
God West is just ahhhhmazing. *sigh*
Though Lily is infatuated with Blane, it's more the fantasy she has created in her head that she's obsessed with. She's been creating this fantasy in her mind for so long, that she doesn't even realize he isn't the same guy she made him out to be. So when things get out of hand and she finally realizes what an a** Blane really is, all of her friends are there for her. West being one of those friends.
None of them ever thought to cross the line between friends/lovers, until they did and there was no going back.
With a Twist is the a book about love, friendship and trust. It really is a beautiful, funny story of two people realizing they are way more than friends. Learning it is OK to take the next step, even though everything is telling you not too. Because when you let love in, it happens to be the best thing ever.
I loved this book, the banter between all of the friends was my favorite part. I hope there is a book for every friend because I seriously loved all of them!! Well done Staci, I cant wait to read more of your books!!

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom; she has three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife; even though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. Her favorite word starts with f and ends with k.
From roots in Houston, to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.
