Secrets.
Everyone has one.
Some are bigger than others.
And when secrets are revealed,
Some will heal you ...
And some will end you.
Kate Sedgwick’s life has been anything but typical. She’s endured hardship and tragedy, but throughout it all she remains happy and optimistic (there’s a reason her best friend Gus calls her Bright Side). Kate is strong-willed, funny, smart, and musically gifted. She’s also never believed in love. So when Kate leaves San Diego to attend college in the small town of Grant, Minnesota, the last thing she expects is to fall in love with Keller Banks.
They both feel it.
But they each have a reason to fight it.
They each have a secret.
And when secrets are revealed,
Some will heal you …
And some will end you.
Everyone has one.
Some are bigger than others.
And when secrets are revealed,
Some will heal you ...
And some will end you.

*JMAC'S REVIEW*
So I really finished this book last week but needed to clear
my mind before writing this review. It would’ve
been an emotional jumbled mess if I didn’t give myself time. (It still might be a jumbled mess, and for
that I’m sorry.)
Bright Side was honestly such a beautiful story;
HEARTBREAKING, but beautiful.
I won’t lie, the beginning was slow for me. I had NO CLUE where the story was going. I stopped at one point thinking maybe the
book wasn’t for me, but I couldn’t give up hope, and I’m so happy I didn’t
because Bright Side is definitely one of my favorite books ever.
I really can’t give a detailed description of Bright Side
like I usually do in my reviews because the tiniest detail would give the story
away, and this story is a story everyone should experience on their own.
I will say that this book BROKE me. It completely gutted me, but in the end it
was beautiful. I myself happen to love
books that make me sob like a baby. I’m
talking about snotty nose, can’t see because my tears are in the way,
SOBBING. Kim does an amazing job at
telling a great story; one that will stay with you long after you finish
it. The writing was just brilliant.
Kim has become a favorite author of mine after reading
Bright Side (yes it was that good). I fell
in love with all characters in this story.
Kim has a way with her words, making you fall for everyone in the book. I love how I was given a full story. I got to understand who the main characters
were. I kept trying to guess where the
story would wind up, and then BAM. I’m
hit with it. To say I was upset at the
author for breaking my heart is an understatement, but Kim was very nice and
helped with my grieving process after reading this book.
I’m well aware that this review does not give this story
justice whatsoever, but trust me when I say Bright Side is a MUST READ. If you love to FEEL a story while reading it,
this is your book. This story will pull
you in and never let you go. It will
leave you thinking, feeling, and longing for more. Kim you are an amazing writer. Its authors like you that make me love
reading. Thank you for writing this
amazingly heartbreaking story. You are
officially one of my favorite authors, and I will forever be a fan!
Bright Side is beyond a 5 star read. It’s a very special book, and it will forever
stay with me. Do yourself a favor and go
read this beautiful story.

About The Author
Some of my favorite things: reading, writing, the two
coolest guys on the planet (my husband and son), my bicycle (my husband built
it for me), Facebook (I'm fairly certain it's an addiction at this point), iced
coffee (hazelnut), and music (LOVE the 1975, Dredg, the xx, Haim, Teenage
Bottlerocket, and 30 Seconds to Mars). I also love dreaming, which brings me to
my next point. I have one bit of advice for anyone reading this ... follow your
dreams. It's never too late. Get started today ... heck get started RIGHT NOW!
I wanted to write a book 20 years ago. Instead I waited. And waited. I
should've been writing. But I didn't. I don't do regrets, because the past is
just that, the past. But let me tell you there's nothing in the world like
achieving something you've dreamt about for years and years. So, get started.
Make your dreams reality.
