Cover Reveal/Giveaway - DEREK by Dawn Martens

Title: Derek (Resisting Love 4) by Dawn Martens
Author: Dawn Martens
Publication Date: Fall 2013

SYNOPSIS

Rylie Sullivan hasn’t had an easy life. She is broken, so broken she doesn’t think she will ever be fixed. When she meets Derek, he barges into her life and tries to break down the walls she has so carefully construed to keep what’s left of her safe. When Rylie’s past mixes with her present, will Derek stand by her and help her survive? Or will he bail for the next pretty thing?

Derek Tremaine has had it easy. Coming from a wealthy family and blessed with good looks, Derek has breezed through life. After years of one night stands, and a few half ass attempts at relationships, Derek has almost given up on ever finding the woman for him. When he sees Rylie however, he can’t help but be drawn to her. Rylie is different, more so than any other person Derek has met. Rylie’s beauty- her tattoos, piercings and beautiful blonde dreads drew him in, but it’s her sweet, kind nature that makes him want to stay around and protect her. Winning Rylie’s heart will be his greatest challenge yet, but Derek knows the reward will be more than worth it.
Which is why Derek has no intentions of letting her go.

MEET THE AUTHOR

I'm Dawn. I co-wrote a two books (Chase and Kade) with fellow author Chantal Fernando, in the Resisting Love. We went solo on three of the books, she wrote Ryder, and she is writing James, and I'm writing Derek.
Also working on a book currently with my friend Isabella Bearden, called A Second Chance!
AND I'm currently writing a book with good friend Emily Minton called Whiskey Lullaby.
I drink too much, Swear too much, and Read too much. Yes I read too much. I don't have a filter, and I tend to speak before I think.
I'm a beta reader for many authors, I'm on a few authors ARC list, because apparently I'm THAT awesome. ;) And I also Edit. Not a professional, but I do help a few with that.
I have two children, 5&2, and have another on the way. They bug the shit outta me, but hey, that's what kids are supposed to do. ;) Married since 2007. He's amazing, but he's also a bigger pain in my ass than my kids are.
I love to read. and I love being able to write stories that *I* want to read!
I couldn't do this without the help of some very special friends!

Synopsis

Meet Liv and Danny...

Liv loves Danny. She knows she loves him more than he loves her, so she lets him go without a fight when his parents make him move back to America. She knows she will never love anyone like she loved him, but she has to move on.

Danny loves Liv. He knows he loves her more than she loves him, because she does nothing to get him to stay, so he goes quietly when his parents leave the UK. He knows he will never love anyone like he loved her, but he has to move on.

Twelve years on, they have made a good job of pretending, they may have almost forgotten. But when they get in touch via Facebook, it seems that it is all still there.

They quickly find that they are intensely compatible in ways they hadn’t even begun to explore before they were forced apart.

Can they put aside their fears and give it a go? Or will deep rooted doubts and insecurities tear them apart?

My 5 Star Review

I received a copy of Just Human in exchange for an honest review.

Just Human brought back so many memories of my first love and how distance tore us apart.  Needless to say I was just a mess through the first half of the book.  You really do never forget your first love, even if it didn't end on a happy note you will forever hold that one person in your heart.

immediately connect with Liv, how could I not.  She is everything most young woman starting out hope to be and us old woman hope to have achieved.  An educated, successful business women out to take on the world or at least a small portion.  Independent, strong willed, and true to herself and friends.  Liv has been one of the best written heroines I have read in a long time.  It was so nice to see the girl stand up for herself and not let the ex-boyfriend walk all over her.  Okay lets just say it "Liv you kick ass".

Danny, oh Danny how easy you made it for me to fall in love with you.  I have never had so many swoon-gasms in one book before.  Danny is everything I think most girls wish for in their significant other.  Smart, Sweet, sexy, HOT, AMAZING, DINO-MITE in bed and unbelievably romantic.  OMG!!! the romance just drips off this mans tongue.

"You are always rooted here with me"

"There has been something missing in my life ever since that day and last week, for the first time in twelve years, something changed.  The missing piece came into view and I had to come see if I could put myself back together."

"I'm going to take you upstairs," he whispers, "lie down beside you and hold you while we both fall asleep."

"I have always loved you, Live."  "I have never stopped loving you... and I never will."

Danny gives the term "swoon-worthy" a whole new meaning.  He knows no ends when it comes to loving Liv.  Liv is hesitant and while she does love Danny she is afraid to lose him.  If for some reason it was not to work out between them, she knows it would destroy her.

Kerry did a fabulous job putting this story together.  I love how she brings two characters together for a second chance at first love.  The story grows and flowed throughout leaving you wanting more.  I was on the edge of my seat waiting, knowing love could not be this perfect.  I waited and waited letting Kerry tease me with possible disaster to only be left with complete heartache when it did indeed happen.

Kerry thank goodness you live across the pond because I seriously wanted to get in my car and find you.  How could you leave me with that ending.  I am crushed.  Now when does book 2 come out???  I need it like NOW!!!

Book: For Now
Author: Nicole Deatherage
Expected Publication Date: October 2013

SYNOPSIS
After being dumped the day before her wedding, Leigh stopped believing in 'happily ever after'. She moved forward, picked up the pieces, and decided that having a physical relationship with her brother's best friend, Jax McKay, would be the perfect way to jump start her new single status. She knows he doesn't do commitment, and that's exactly what she needs. Jax had always thought of Leigh as unobtainable. Not only was she his best friend's little sister, but until recently she was spoken for. When she propositions him, he devises a plan to make her his, even though he knows she’s only looking for something temporary. Will he be able to keep her for always, or only For Now?

Book Spotlight: BENT by H.B. Heinzer Review/Giveaway

SYNOPSIS

If there’s one thing Julia Wilson has learned in life, it’s that you can’t push your own dreams to the background for anyone. Newly divorced, Julia returns to the hometown she once swore would never see her again. Her plan is simple; enjoy the cheap rent her friend is offering and stay just long enough to develop a plan to make her own dreams come true. It doesn’t take long before Julia realizes she’s made a big mistake. Micah Anderson came closer to breaking Julia than anyone else ever had. After promising her forever, he broke her heart the week before she left for college. Now, Julia’s back in town and he’s going to have to tell her the truth about why he left her. It’s not possible to hide a twelve year old child when you live in a town of 5,000 people. Is following your dreams worth it if it means giving up on a second chance with her first love? Is trying to make a relationship work worth it if his past becomes a threat to her safety?

MY REVIEW - 4 Stars

Two broken hearts trying to move on with life when fate steps in and says "I don't think so".  There is a reason why it didn't work out all those years ago and it is all Micah fault.  But now that Micah and Julia have come together again can she find it in her heart to forgive and forget.  Forgiving Micah maybe easy, but forgetting maybe be harder than she thinks when she must face the reason that split them apart everyday.

The opening to the story lead up to my heart breaking.  How could he do that to her??
I was seriously like what the hell photo: What the hell tumblr_lh7mn4umqA1qcxmip.gifWhat the hell!!

and then I just wanted to
crying photo: Crying crying_zpsae24c147.gif

So I did

After some serious girl time (box of tissues, ugly crying and LOTS of alcohol) Julia put her big girl panties on and thought seriously about...
girl kicking ass photo: Anime girl kicking ass Yuuhi1.gif"The thought of pummeling Micah for everything he'd ever put her through made Julia crack a smile. She'd never actually do it but it was an entertaining thought." Bent by H.B. Heinzer

Micah and Julia come to an agreement "friends".  But who can resist a man as charming, handsome and swoon worthy as Micah?  Certainly not me and apparently not Julia either.

It's getting hot in here!!!

But nothing in life could be that simple so of course here comes the psycho ex-wife.
I kid you not I think she really looks like this.

Micah & Julia had me in tears again.  Oh please, please, please make this work.

But when Julia freaks out and hops on a plan to NY without telling Micha I was just floored and screaming

So they say "absents makes the heart grow founder" well forget that because this just broke my heart.

I wanted to strangle Julia for being stupid and then strangle Micah for letting her go. Damn honorable man, grow a pair and beg for that woman to stay!!!!  You let her go before and you're doing it again. AHHHHHH!!!!  So guess what??  That's right I cried again.

Well just when you think things couldn't get any worse she takes a job in NY.  I know long distance relationships never work, but Micah was willing to wait for Julia to make up her mind about her life and how he would fit into it.  Nothing for these two can be simple. When Julia visits Micah for Thanksgiving  she discovers he has once again lied to her and more is revealed that could send Julia running again.

Because look who's back.......
and with a new agenda.

I don't want to give away the ending so you will just have to read BENT to find out how it all turns out.

WOW what a roller coaster of emotions.  H.B. Heinzer sent me on a ride with Micah and Julia that I will never forget. You will be on the edge of your seat till the last page.
I cried, boy did I cry.  I laughed and screamed at two of the most frustrating characters and then fell in love with them.  And when it was all said and done all their dreams came true.

AUTHOR H.B HEINZER
With the exception of three years spent in the middle of Nebraska, H.B. Heinzer has called southern Wisconsin home. During that time in Nebraska, she imagined one of her favorite authors living on the far western edge of the county, just south of the highway. At the time, becoming a novelist was a distant dream for her. Now, she is the author living in that location. Ironically, she later found out that same favorite author lives just outside the town HB lived in for the first eighteen years of her life. Now, HB lives in the middle of nowhere but still close enough to the city to not feel isolated. It's the perfect place to let her two kids run and explore their huge yard, teach them about the food chain as they prepare their first-ever garden and debate building a chicken coop. It's one of those dreams that is only possible thanks to the amazing opportunities that have come through writing.

Blog Tour - Giveaway, Interview, Ch 1, REACHING OUT FOR YOU by S. Moose

AUTHOR INTERVIEW
with S. Moore

Welcome S. Moore I am so excited to have you here at Just One More Romance. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to sit down for an interview. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

My name is Saoching Moose and I am writing as S.Moose. I live in Webster, NY with my husband. I love spending time with my family and friends. Spring and Summer are my favorite seasons because I get to be outside going to the beach, going for walks, having BBQ's and just relaxing.

I graduated from St. John Fisher College in 2011-best school ever. I learned so much from my professors and peers during my time at Fisher.

I love reading-I'm a sucker for romance and a happy ending. I love reading books by Indie authors. There's something about their words that pull me in.

I want to inspire people with my words and make a difference. I love writing and hearing how my book made someone smile or realize how strong they are. It's a powerful thing to hear that your words are helping someone get through something difficult.

You have a new book that recently came out titled Reaching Out For You. Can you give us a short description of the book?

Reaching Out For You is about finding yourself and realizing your own worth.

It follows Sophia, four years later, and she's in college trying to start her life again. She is happy, for the most part, but something is missing from her life. Her old best friend, Adam, comes back into her life and things are great again. But, Sophia is dating Kyle. Kyle is a romantic and sweet boyfriend. He's caring and loves Sophia until the doors are closed. Sophia does get abused by Kyle and she's holding that secret. When she does find the strength to leave him, will she be able to give herself to Adam.

Now will Sophia be able to let Adam in? Will she have her happily ever after?

Is Reaching Out For You a standalone or a part of a series?

It is the first book in the Never Letting Go series.

Where did you drawl inspiration for this story?

My husband pushed me to write. He liked the idea of incorporating abuse in my story and showing people that life isn't always perfect, even in books. I wanted to write something powerful and moving-to create commotion.

In Reaching Out For You, who was your favorite and/or most difficult character to write?

Sophia was my favorite to write but honestly, it was hard to write Adam. I wanted to make him loveable-to be the boy next door. It was hard because I knew how I wanted to be viewed but there were so many scenes I had to delete.

I didn’t want him to yell at Sophia or push her too hard. He’s protective over her and wants her to be happy. There are many parts in the book that make you wonder-why is he trying so hard?

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

I have always known I wanted to become an author but never pursued it. It wasn’t until this year actually after I read Forever Black by Sandi Lynn that I was inspired to write. The self-published world is so new to me and I didn’t think it would be possible. With Sandi’s help along with so many amazing authors, I am where I am today-no regrets.

Who are some of your favorite authors or favorite books?

Oh gosh are you ready? I have a very long list!

Sandi Lynn, Kendall Ryan, A. Meredith Walters, A.L Jackson, Michelle Valentine, Cora Carmack, Jessica Sorenson, E.L James, Teresa Mummert, Dawn Martens, Glenna Maynard, Brooke Cumberland, Nickie Seidler, Carey Heywood, L.Chapman and Melissa Collins.

When writing are you more productive in the morning or at night?

At night.

Do you plan and outline your books before you start writing or just go where your characters take you?

I go with the flow. It’s terrible! I have a memory like a gold fish so sometimes I have to go back and see what colored eyes I described for my characters!

Now some fun questions. I love all things romantic.....

Most romantic destination?

Italy! DREAM vacation *hint hint husband of mine!

Favorite romantic dessert?

Chocolate covered strawberries!

Love or Lust?

Love!

Who would be your prince charming?

Oh goodness. Um. Shh my husband can’t find out but honestly, Christian Grey! Sorry but he took my romance/erotica virginity and every time I say NDA, I giggle. Yes I know mature!

Thank you so much S. Moore for taking the time to let us interview you.

Thank you so much for interviewing me! I had so much fun!

Cover Reveal & Giveaway: SEARCHING FOR TOMORROW by Katie Mac

Blurb:

What happens when you find the one person who completes you, and then life conspires against you? How do you set your grief and anguish aside? How do you pick up the shattered pieces, put those pieces back together again, and try to move on?

Katie and Tripp met on the playground the first day of third grade when Tripp tried to rescue Katie from Zack, her twin brother. A lifelong friendship that later blossomed into love began that day.

Broken beyond her own ability to repair, Katie boxes her grief up and attempts to raise her three girls the best she can on her own. As time slowly passes, Katie relives her times with Tripp while struggling most days to even get out of bed. She is reminded of him at every turn.

Zack is Katie's twin brother and was Tripp's best friend. Having lost his own love, he dedicates himself to helping Katie put her life back together. Throw in a mother-in-law who torments at every turn and poor Katie can't even find a chance to breathe, much less a desire to somehow search for tomorrow.

Author Interview:

Tell us 5 surprising things about yourself.
  • 1.     I am a PK. If you know what that means, then you know what that means.
    2.     I have always wanted to be a red head with long, beautiful corkscrew curls.
    3.     No matter what I’m doing, I would rather be outside, day or night, hot or cold, rain or shine.
    4.     I was awarded two separate scholarships when I graduated high school. One was a teaching fellowship and the other was for writing.
    5.     I love to cook, almost as much as I like to eat. I spent a couple of years as a private cook for a local family and loved every minute of it

    What is your writing environment?

At the moment, I have a makeshift office in my pantry! If need be, I can shut the door and cut off part of the noise. I hope to have a more permanent space soon.

One of your favorite quotes.

To whom much is given, much is required.

Random things about my novel.

Just a bit of nonsense. I am Kathryn Anne, and my two sisters are Rebekah Elizabeth and Sarah Margaret. My husband is Channing, and my son is Zachary. One of my daughters is Elizabeth, and I still have to work my daughter Brittany into the book. Highlands is my most favorite place in the world to go when my soul need refreshing. Last, but not least, I actually had a great-grandma Tiddy!

Flirting Questions

What does love feel like?

Warm, fuzzy, secure, safe, sheltered

How did you meet your significant other?

In the lobby of the bank that I worked in. I was on all fours under a Christmas tree tightening the screws in the base. What can I say? Baby got back!

If you could take a romantic trip, where would it be?

Any trip I take with Hubs is romantic. One of his favorite things to do is to whisk me away to wine and dine me.

Do you believe in love at first sight?

Absolutely! Ask me how I feel about my grandson Grayson!

Bio:

I am a small-town Southern gal who loves flip flops, chocolate, sweet tea and dirt between my toes. I would rather work in my garden than clean my house. As far back as I can remember, I've had a book in my hand. Reading has carried to places I will never go. It has introduced me to people that I will never meet. When life is great and when it is rough, I've always been able to find a book to carry me through. I finally decided to write down some of the stories in my head and heart after dawdling around and wasting years dreaming. I hope you enjoy reading those stories as much as I love writing them!
